For the last two weeks, we've been praying fervently for the Rose Park community as we stepped out and engaged the community by distributing 5,000 door hangers to 5,000 homes! Each door hanger has an invitation to our Easter Sunrise Service (on the front) and the gospel message (on the back). It also has an invitation to join us for our Sunday services beginning May 3 at the Northwest Community Center. Even if each of the 5,000 homes only has two people living there, that's at least 10,000 people that have potentially been invited to our church and had a chance to read the gospel message!
This is one of many ways we are seeking to be a church that is serious about evangelism. When we first started hanging door hangers, many of our people and volunteers were a little nervous and didn't know what to expect from people they met along the way. By God's grace, we met people over the last two weeks that weren't just tolerant of our invitations but most were actually excited to join us!
One particular evening, we met an older gentlemen who had just moved to the Rose Park area. After a few minutes of dialogue we learned that he has had some bad experiences with religion in the past but was very excited to join us for our Easter Sunrise Service. We offered to pray for him and after concluding our prayer, we found that he was moved to tears and explained that he had never had anyone pray for him like this! Needless to say, we are continually blown away by what God is doing in Rose Park and we're still learning to be faithful and obedient by putting ourselves and the gospel out there for people to see demonstrated and proclaimed.
We hope to continue to grow in our evangelistic efforts, especially in the area of courage. God is good and we want to share that message with as many people as we possibly can. Please join us in praying that the gospel would be demonstrated and proclaimed faithfully in Rose Park as we seek to plant the gospel here.
Below is a highlight video of the last two weeks of hanging door hangers. We had many volunteers from our sending church, Risen Life Church, and want to say thank you again to them for their continued prayer, support, encouragement, and blessing in this new adventure to establish a new church in Rose Park.
