Sacrificial giving or tithing might be the great unspoken controversy in the American Church. We love our money and it’s often the idol we do everything to protect. But Jesus commands us to give. His command in Matthew 6:1-4 is not about money. It’s not about the poor. It’s not even about God. It’s about us. And giving helps us see Jesus rightly.
