“And Jesus said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, the laborers are few.  Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” – Luke 10:2

In the 10th Chapter of Luke, Jesus sent out 36 two-man teams ahead of him on the Mission of Jesus to heal the sick and proclaim that the Kingdom of God is near.  They were teams who do not put their hand to the plow and look back, as Jesus said only moments earlier.  Then Jesus told them to pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send out laborers.  He didn’t say to pray that people would come from afar to help, but that God wouldsend out the laborers.  Yes, these could be people sent out from other places to help us, but they could also be disciples sent right from where they are into the places where God has already put them.  They could be the same people praying that God would send laborers into the harvest.  They could be you.

At Redeeming Life, we’re praying the same prayer, and we’re looking for laborers ready to reap a harvest with us on our mission field.  Is God calling you?

This means we need people who are making disciples by praying and sharing the gospel and then walking with new believers to help them grow into maturity.  Of course, this means the laborers need to be growing greatly in Christ to maturity themselves.

We’re looking for men and women who are in great unity with the vision of Redeeming Life Church and want to serve as crewmembers on our journey.

We also need leaders in nearly every area of our church.  These men and women will be highly committed, Kingdom minded, humble, Christ-centered, disciples who make disciples and demonstrate fruit in their lives.  They will already be serving right where they are. And they will reflect Jesus because they are bursting with Christ in their lives.

Please pray Luke 10:2 for our church.  We need laborers.  They may come from within our church or God may bring them from far away places to help us in this harvest field.  Either way, the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few.
